Big change...

Well, after second guessing my agency decision, I've decided to change agencies. I can't say a lot of nice things about my current agency as I only received a call back once. I didn't leave for ethical reasons as there was nothing that seemed unethical. It was more for customer service issues. I didn't like waiting a week and a half for a return on a question (there's a VM I sent in three weeks ago that still hasn't received a reply.) I switched to another ethical agency that I haven't heard a bad word about. I mentioned my dissatisfaction with my social worker on Sunday and she said I should look into the agency I switched to. It was my second choice originally, and I'm very happy with my decision. They received my application today and I received an email as well as a phone call welcoming me and asking if I had any questions she could answer. AND...I immediately have access to dossier information so I can start organizing my approach to the paperchase! Yay!

Otherwise, life is great! My mother called this weekend and told me that she and my father were talking about the adoption and they BOTH want to come to Vietnam too! I love my family!

It is stressful to change agencies, but sometimes it is just the right thing to do. We switched as well - due to a wait time of 18-24 months for an infant girl. We finally got our referral and are the happiest couple around!

I wish you the best with your new agency. That will be so much fun with your parents going with you.

I think it's good you followed your gut and went with an ethical agency that is also responsive.
And how cool that your parents want to go to VN with you!
